Round 12 at Viking Park produced two exceptional individual performances from the Gungahlin Eagles. Congratulations to Thomas Ciot, named Men’s Player of the Day, and Hulita Toefoki, named Women’s Player of the Day — two players who delivered standout performances in their respective wins on Saturday 4 July.

What more can be said about this performance?
Most players are lucky to score four tries in an entire season. Thomas Ciot scored four in a single game against the ladder-leading Vikings in a giant performance for the 2nd Grade side. Four tries. Against the competition leaders. In one afternoon.
It was a well-deserved reward for a player who is always willing to do whatever is needed — no matter the position, no matter the grade. Tom brings the same effort and attitude every single week, and on Saturday that consistency was matched by a performance for the ages.
This outstanding effort sees Tom claim his second Player of the Day award of the 2026 season. Two awards. Two extraordinary performances. That tells you everything you need to know about Thomas Ciot as a player and as an Eagle.

HULITA TOEFOKI — WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE DAY
Hulita Toefoki’s breakout 2026 season continued with another dominant performance at tighthead prop as the Eagles Premier Women defeated the Tuggeranong Vikings 24–17 at Viking Park.
Hulita anchored the scrum throughout the match, earning the Eagles front foot rugby at every opportunity and setting the platform from which the Women’s backline could operate. In the loose she was just as impressive — dominating the middle channel both with and without the ball and making her presence felt across the full 80 minutes.
What stands out about Hulita beyond the physical performance is the leadership she brings to this group. She is a young player who inspires her teammates through her actions, sets the tone with her aggression and skill, and keeps getting better week by week.
Hulita Toefoki is one of the most exciting young players in the Eagles setup right now. We love to see it. Well done.
