Two Grades, Two Tries: Bailey Cotter Named Round 11 Player of the Day

ROUND 11 PLAYER OF THE DAY — BAILEY COTTER

Congratulations to Bailey Cotter, named Round 11 Player of the Day after a performance that would make any flanker proud — and one that perfectly captures what it means to be a Gungahlin Eagle.

LEADING THE COLTS TO A BIG WIN

Bailey’s day started in the Colts, where he led the way in a dominant 55–33 win over the Queanbeyan Whites. Crossing for a try and bringing energy to every facet of the game, he played the majority of the match and was instrumental in the Colts’ standout performance of the round.

THEN THE CALL CAME

Just as the job in Colts was done, a tap on the shoulder from the 2nd Grade coach changed Bailey’s afternoon entirely. He was needed to start at number 7 in the very next fixture — and without hesitation, he answered the call.

Bailey ran on for kick-off, scored the opening try, and produced another tireless 50-minute performance in the back row. Two grades, two strong efforts, and a level of work rate that very few players could match in a single day.

A PRODUCT OF THE JUNIOR PATHWAY

Bailey Cotter is a product of the Gungahlin Eagles junior pathway, and his double effort on Saturday showed exactly what that development pipeline is capable of producing. Energy, attitude, and a willingness to do whatever the team needs, that’s what being an Eagle is all about, and Bailey delivered it in spades.
