ROUND 9 PLAYERS OF THE DAY: BRAD PATMORE & LAURA CAMERON
Round 9 on Ladies Day at The Nest produced two outstanding individual performances worthy of recognition. Congratulations to Brad Patmore, named Men’s Player of the Day, and Laura Cameron, who took out the Christine Thomson Medal as best on field for Ladies Day. A fitting pair of winners on a memorable occasion.
BRAD PATMORE: MEN’S PLAYER OF THE DAY
Only two weeks back from a broken leg suffered in pre-season, Brad Patmore’s Round 9 performance was a testament to his toughness and commitment to the Eagles.
Brad came off the bench for the Colts, adding impact in their 38–29 win over the Owls. Minutes later, the call came through for 1st Grade, and this time in the unfamiliar position of hooker.
Without hesitation, Brad stepped up. In his no-nonsense style he anchored a dominant Eagles scrum, helped the men in black claim a third straight win, and did it all in a position he doesn’t usually play. That is the definition of a team player.
Coming back from a serious injury is hard enough. Coming back and doing what Brad did on Saturday is something else entirely. Well done mate.
LAURA CAMERON: WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE DAY | CHRISTINE THOMSON MEDAL
On the biggest day of the women’s calendar, Laura Cameron was the best player on the park. Her performance in the Eagles’ 39–15 win over the Uni-North Owls earned her the Christine Thomson Medal, the Ladies Day best on field award and it was thoroughly deserved.
Congratulations Laura. A brilliant performance on a brilliant day.
