PLAYERS OF THE WEEK — ROUND 3 | BRIANNA PATMORE & TYLER HAYS
Every round throws up standout performers who go above and beyond for the Gungahlin Eagles. In Round 3, two players stepped up in a big way — one a rising star only three games into her senior career, the other a versatile clubman who played two full games across two days without a word of complaint. Please join us in congratulating our Round 3 Players of the Week.
WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE DAY — BRIANNA PATMORE
Three games into her senior rugby career and Brianna Patmore is already playing like a seasoned veteran. That’s not something you see every day.
Bri has been outstanding from the moment she stepped up to senior level. Her non-stop running efforts keep her perfectly positioned in defence week after week, and she’s the kind of player who hardly misses a tackle. When the ball is in her hands she’s a genuine threat — powerful when taking on the line and equally capable of delivering a crisp pass to put a teammate into space. That dual threat at number eight in the scrum makes her incredibly difficult to defend against.
Only three games in and already making her mark. The Eagles are very lucky to have her, and the best is absolutely yet to come. Well done Bri.
MEN’S PLAYER OF THE DAY — TYLER HAYS
If you ever wanted to know what a true team player looks like, look no further than Tyler Hays.
Making the transition in 2026 from centres to the backrow, Tyler is still finding his feet in his new position — but you wouldn’t know it from his performances. On Friday night he played a full game in 3rd Grade at Nicholls Oval. Then on Saturday, when the SOS came through for injury cover, Tyler pulled his boots back on and played another full game in 2nd Grade without hesitation. Two full games. Two days. One bloke who just gets it done.
His game is built on strong carries that make metres every time and a punishing defensive effort that opposition backs feel all afternoon. But what really sets Tyler apart is his attitude. After all of that — two games across two days — he was still there on Saturday afternoon helping pack up. That’s what the Eagles family is all about.
Tyler Hays, we see you. Well done mate.
