Four from Four: Eagles Sweep the Royals in Round 8 at The Nest

ROUND 8 RESULTS: GUNGAHLIN EAGLES VS CANBERRA ROYALS

A superb day at The Nest on Saturday 30 May. The Eagles hosted the Canberra Royals at Nicholls Oval in Round 8 of the 2026 BentSpoke John I Dent Cup and delivered four wins across the four grades in action. 3rd Grade and 4th Grade had a bye this round.

Here’s how every grade finished.

1ST GRADE – EAGLES 47, ROYALS 19

A dominant performance from the 1st Grade, running out 47–19 winners against the Royals at Nicholls Oval. A comprehensive result and the Eagles’ strongest performance of the 2026 season to date. The squad will take a lot of confidence from this one heading into the rounds ahead.

2ND GRADE – EAGLES 19, ROYALS 14

A tight but important win for the 2nd Grade, edging the Royals 19–14 in a close contest. Five points the difference at the final whistle, a result earned through composure and work rate across the 80 minutes.

PREMIER WOMEN – EAGLES 55, ROYALS 12

An outstanding performance from the Premier Women, running out 55–12 winners against the Royals in a dominant display. The Eagles were clinical across the park and the scoreline reflects a top-to-bottom team effort. The Women continue to be one of the standout sides in the 2026 Premier 15s competition.

COLTS — EAGLES 48, ROYALS 26

The Colts backed up with another strong result, defeating the Royals 48–26. A high-scoring performance that showed the depth and attacking intent within this group. The Colts continue to build strongly as the season progresses.

A FOUR-WIN DAY AT THE NEST

Four grades, four wins, all at home against the Royals. Saturday 30 May was one of the Eagles’ best days of the 2026 season. The form across the grades is building and the squad will head into Round 9 with confidence.
