Congratulations to Tom Haddad, named Round 6 Men’s Player of the Match after leading the Gungahlin Eagles 1st Grade to their first win of the 2026 season against the Queanbeyan Whites at Nicholls Oval on Saturday 16 May.
A CAPTAIN’S PERFORMANCE
Tom returned to lead the 1st Grade side in Round 6 and delivered exactly what the Eagles needed. A strong performance in both attack and defence, Tom set the standard from the front and gave his team something to follow throughout the match.
The 29–22 win over the Whites was built on a dominant forward effort, and Tom’s leadership was central to that. He directed the team around the park, made his presence felt in the key moments, and helped the Eagles secure a result the whole club had been working towards.
FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
Winning is never easy and the first win of the season always means something. For the 1st Grade group, Round 6 against the Whites was a significant result and Tom Haddad played a major role in making it happen.
That is what captaincy looks like.
