Loyal and local: Ray White signs on as Eagles major sponsor for three years
Rugby union in Gungahlin has today received a significant boost with the confirmation of Ray White Canberra as the major sponsor of the Gungahlin Eagles for seasons 2023-2025.
As an Eagles sponsor of 13 years, Ray White Canberra have enhanced our partnership yet again with consideration of the grassroots and women’s programs, as well as assisting with the delivery of a semi-professional and social rugby program for all.
The partnership includes a contribution for the Eagles to commence a brand new ‘Women in Rugby’ scholarship program, that will assist aspiring rugby players to take their game to the next level and be supported to achieve their study and professional goals as well.
The announcement comes after the exciting news of the Eagles’ new-look coaching roster for 2023, which features Lachlan McCaffrey and Matt Giteau, as well as a highly anticipated return to our spiritual home, “The Nest” in Nicholls.
The Ray White Canberra CEO, Ben Faulks, is a proud member of the Gungahlin Eagles family. The name Faulks is synonymous with our club’s rich history; David Faulks (Ben’s father) was the club President in years 94-96 inclusive, and Ben and his brother Sam both grew up around the club, played countless games and have held various leadership roles both on and off the field.
Faulks says there is a long-standing synergy between the two organisations that is tied together with a strong sense of family and community.
“The values of the Gungahlin Eagles have always closely aligned with those of Ray White. Attributes like Teamwork, Humility and Leadership are foundational to the way we have built our business, and they are what we look for in our partners“
“It’s a proud day to take Ray White Canberra’s 13-year sponsorship of the Gungahlin Eagles to the next level. My family and I have been part of the broader Eagles family for nearly 50 years, and I know first-hand the positive impact that the club has on the lives of young men and women, as well as the incredible volunteer group and broader club community, who are often firmly bonded for life through their experiences with the club. To me, that sense of community is what is unique about rugby, and why we want to keep investing in supporting the game.“
“We look forward to expanding our involvement with rugby in the ACT at the grassroots level to support community rugby and the growth of the Women’s game.”
Gungahlin Eagles President, Eoghan O’Byrne, believes the Eagles have a key role to play in the growth and success of rugby in a vital location of Canberra and Australia, Gungahlin. He says our sport in Gungahlin is given a fighting chance to prosper with the generous support of organisations such as Ray White Canberra.
“As a premier rugby union club that caters to passionate rugby people from all walks of life, I’d like to extend our sincere gratitude to Ben and his team at Ray White Canberra for showing such tremendous faith in our club and our brand” he said.
“I have full confidence that the Eagles will continue to grow the game and represent our proud history long into the future, but it wouldn’t be at all possible without sponsorship and other forms of generous contributions such as the Eagles Foundation”
“Ray White are an internationally recognised and respected brand that enhances our club’s image and provides an added sense of professionalism to what we do, from our juniors all the way through to our premier women and men’s teams”
“I look forward to continuing a long-standing partnership with Ray White Canberra, who are as committed as we are to the great game of rugby”
