Hansen and Ross set to make Brumbies debut

Eagles own products Mack Hansen and Tom Ross have been given their playing jerseys for the Brumbies blockbuster rivalry clash with the Waratahs this Friday night at GIO Stadium.

Both players will sit on the bench and chances are they’ll cross the line and become officially capped Brumbies.

The news has stirred plenty of excitement among the Eagles community and a large crowd of local support is anticipated.

When asked if they were nervous, both immediately responded with “Nah, not yet”.

The boys have been a rugby match made in heaven from day dot, playing grassroots footy together as they climbed the ranks of ACT and Junior Wallabies rugby. Now, with plenty of senior footy at the Eagles under their belts, they’ve been presented with the opportunity they’ve dreamed about from a young age.

Eagles Director of Rugby, Troy Atkins, has seen them playing together from a young age and is immensely proud of their efforts to get to where they are.

“It’s wonderful to see two young homegrown rugby products progress to the professional ranks of Super Rugby,” Atkins says.

“From humble beginnings at Daramalan Juniors to the Eagles, Junior Wallabies, and now the Brumbies, their stories highlight to other young aspiring juniors just what you can achieve if you stick to your goals and ambitions and just keep turning up.”

“The whole Daramalan and Eagles communities are so proud of them, what great ambassadors for our club they are.”

Be sure to get your ticket for the Brumbies game and make plenty of noise when they take to the field!
