An Eagle Becomes a Brumby: Ray White, a loyal sponsor

Those within the Eagles and ACT Brumbies community that know of Ray White Canberra’s generosity in supporting grassroots rugby, would have been beaming when they saw the Brums reveal their new front of jersey sponsor.

For a first in Brumbies history, Ray White are the major sponsors of both the Men’s and Women’s XV teams.

Ben Faulks is a proud member of the Gungahlin Eagles family. The name Faulks is synonymous with our club’s rich history; Ben and his brother played many games for the club and their father David is a former President (94, 95, 96).

Now in his capacity as Ray White Canberra’s CEO, Ben has been a major sponsor of the Eagles since 2010.

Established in 1902 in regional Queensland, Ray White has evolved into Australasia’s largest and most successful real estate business, and it’s still family-owned and led after 120 years.

With more than 900 offices across Australia and New Zealand, the group’s broad reach and scale is proudly complimented by the Ray White Canberra business, which is locally owned and operated under the leadership of Ben Faulks and services all facets of the residential and commercial property sectors.

Brumbies Rugby CEO, Phil Thomson said: “We are thrilled to welcome Ray White into the Brumbies family as our principal partner for the 2022 season.”

“Ray White are an internationally recognised and respected brand, and we are proud to create some history with this partnership, bringing our Super Rugby and Super W side’s closer together under the one Principal Partner for the first time.

Upon the announcement a few weeks ago, our very own Tim Gavel caught up with Ben Faulks to discuss the new partnership.

Gungahlin Eagles General Manager Trent Pollard is tremendously proud to see a local business with such strong ties to the Eagles, front and centre on the Brumbies Men and Women’s jerseys.

Pollard says “Ray White have been an amazing supporter of grassroots rugby for a very long time. Ben and his team deserve every success as a business, especially given their contribution to the Canberra community for many years”

“Sponsorship is the lifeblood of our club and our sport. Without sponsors, we simply can’t run a semi-professional club that caters to all levels of players”

“We hope that more sponsors see what Ray White have done in starting at the grassroots level. They’ve supported our juniors, colts, women and men’s rugby programs and created a real synergy between the business and the game. Now that they’ve grown as a business we’re so proud that they’ve been able to achieve something as special as being on the front of the famous Brumbies jersey”

“Even though Ray White give so much to our club, and not just monetary, they do it for all the right reasons. They love what rugby brings to people’s lives and they want us to succeed, but we know that the Eagles community reward that generosity by utilising the business when they can. It’s a win-win for everyone”

“On behalf of everyone at the Gungahlin Eagles, we congratulate the Brumbies and Ray White on the new partnership, and would like to thank Ben and his team for everything they do for rugby in Canberra”.
