ROUND 10 PLAYERS OF THE DAY — SIUTITI MAAKE & JEZAIAH SEGA
Round 10 at The Nest produced two standout individual performances on a big day for the Gungahlin Eagles. Congratulations to Siutiti Maake, named Women’s Player of the Day, and Jezaiah Sega, named Men’s Player of the Day, two players who took their game to another level on Saturday 20 June.
SIUTITI MAAKE — WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE DAY
In one of the most fast and physical games of the 2026 season, Siutiti Maake was the standout performer in the Eagles Premier Women’s 41–31 win over Wests.
Her impact was felt throughout every phase of the match. Siutiti had a direct hand in all seven Eagles tries, whether creating space with dominant carries, putting teammates into gaps, or imposing herself on the defensive line. There was very little ground to be made through her channel all afternoon.
Her combination of power, consistency, and constant involvement made her the clear best on field. It’s great to have her back in Eagles colours in 2026, and performances like Saturday’s are exactly why.
Well done Siutiti.
JEZAIAH SEGA — MEN’S PLAYER OF THE DAY
Jezaiah Sega delivered a double shift performance that defined what it means to put the team first.
Starting with a full game in 2nd Grade, Jez then came on and played 60 strong minutes in the 1st Grade fixture, and his impact was immediate. A crucial try just before half-time shifted momentum firmly in the Eagles’ favour and helped set up the 47–22 win over Wests.
His defensive work was relentless across both appearances, dominant tackles, punishing the attack at every opportunity, and giving the opposition very little joy. In attack he carried with power and purpose, consistently bending the line and creating opportunities for his teammates.
Two grades. Two strong performances. One standout Eagle. Well done Jez.
CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH AWARD WINNERS
Siutiti and Jezaiah, two very different performances, both exceptional. On a milestone day for the club with four players reaching significant game tallies, these two added to the occasion with performances the whole Eagles community can be proud of.
