This Saturday’s Round 1 clash against the Canberra Royals isn’t just the start of a new season for the Gungahlin Eagles — it’s a very special day for one of our own.
When James Foster runs onto Phillip Oval this Saturday, he’ll be pulling on the Eagles jersey for the 50th time. And to make the milestone even sweeter, it will also mark his first grade starting debut. What a way to celebrate 50 club games.
A RISING YOUNG GUN
Known around the club as ‘Toast’, James has been a standout since the moment he arrived at the Nest. Over three seasons in the black and red, he has risen through the grades with consistency, determination, and the kind of attitude every coach loves to see.
His résumé already speaks for itself. A Colts premiership title with the Eagles and a 19’s Super title with the Brumbies — Toast has been winning at every level he’s played.
WHAT HE BRINGS TO THE FIELD
Don’t let the milestone fool you into thinking this is a sentimental occasion. James Foster is here to compete. He brings trademark power carries that make metres every time he touches the ball, and a sting in defence that opponents feel all game long.
When Toast is on the park, the Eagles are a better team for it. Simple as that.
