ROUND 5 RESULTS: GUNGAHLIN EAGLES VS WESTS
Gungahlin Eagles hosted Wests at Jamison Oval on Saturday in Round 5 of the 2026 BentSpoke John I Dent Cup competitions, with mixed results across the club’s senior grades.
The Premier Women, 2nd Grade and 4th Grade sides recorded wins, while 1st Grade and 3rd Grade were defeated.

1ST GRADE — EAGLES 24, WESTS 36
Gungahlin’s 1st Grade side was defeated 36–24 by Wests in Round 5 of the BentSpoke John I Dent Cup.
Despite periods of strong attacking play, the Eagles were unable to close the gap against an experienced Wests outfit. The result leaves Gungahlin looking to respond in next week’s fixture against Queanbeyan Whites as the competition ladder begins to take shape.
PREMIER WOMEN — EAGLES 32, WESTS 22
The Premier Women continued their strong start to the 2026 season with a 32–22 win over Wests.
The Eagles produced another consistent performance across the park to secure the result and remain well placed on the Premier Women’s ladder heading into next round.
Gungahlin will now prepare for next weekend’s clash with Queanbeyan Whites.
2ND GRADE — EAGLES 32, WESTS 24
Gungahlin’s 2nd Grade side recorded a 32–24 victory over Wests in the Spence Cup competition.
The Eagles controlled key periods of the contest and were rewarded with an important win as they continue their 2026 campaign. The result provides momentum ahead of next week’s match against Queanbeyan Whites.
3RD GRADE — EAGLES 19, WESTS 57
The Eagles’ 3rd Grade side went down 57–19 against Wests in a difficult outing on Saturday.
Wests capitalised on their opportunities throughout the match, while Gungahlin continued to compete despite the scoreboard pressure. The side will look to regroup ahead of next round.
4TH GRADE — EAGLES 28, WESTS 17
The 4th Grade side continued its recent form with a 28–17 win over Wests.
The Eagles produced another composed performance to secure consecutive victories and continue building consistency in the Premier 4ths competition. Attention now turns to next week’s fixture against Queanbeyan Whites.
