Mack Hansen announced as Rugby Development Officer
The Gungahlin Eagles are proud to announce that Mack Hansen will be the new Rugby Development Officer in 2018 as the club look towards building for the future.
Hansen, 19, will be donning the blue and gold next year for the Brumbies, but he still wants to give back to the club that he calls home.
The former Daramalan College prodigy has had an impressive first year at the club, with an outstanding first-grade debut, which included two try assists and a try of his own.
The elusive fly-half will fit the mold of Rugby Development Officer next year and will be looking to nurture the next generation of Eagles talent.
Hansen is very excited to be handed this role and cannot wait to get his hands dirty.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity the Eagles have given me to develop off the field as well, and I look forward to the challenges and exciting work ahead,” Hansen said.
He will be running clinics at schools and helping our junior coaches build consistency throughout the teams whilst wearing his beloved red and black strip to promote the clubs culture.
Mack will have his hands full next year as he commences the first year of his professional career, but he is confident he will be able to contribute to the Eagles culture.
“I will be flat out with training, but I’m going to give it my all and give back to the club,” Hansen said.
“I’m really excited about what lies ahead with the Brumbies and being able to work within rugby as a job has always been a dream of mine”
“Hopefully [as development officer] I can encourage the young fellas to have a good hard crack at Rugby,” he added.
Hansen starts his Super Rugby journey on the 22nd November when the Brumbies pre-season training kicks off.
