GERUC Club Statement: COVID-19

To the Gungahlin Eagles community – Players, Sponsors, Volunteers, Former Players and Support staff,

The COVID-19 situation is having an unprecedented impact on our community and is changing rapidly.  You can be assured that the Club is working closely with Rugby Australia and the Brumbies to ensure the health and wellbeing of our entire rugby community is considered and the potential impact on our people will continue to be at the forefront of any decision made or advice provided.

As you are all aware, on 16 March 2020 Rugby Australia (RA) made the decision to suspend all Club and Community Rugby until the first week of May 2020. The Eagles respect and will be adhering to the decision during these unprecedented times and will continue to monitor the situation.

All training and club activities have been suspended until further notice. This includes, but is not limited to, volunteer and support staff meetings, trial matches, social events, and committee meetings. Our Head Coach Marco Caputo will keep our playing squad informed as things progress.

We are monitoring developments as the situation around COVID-19 continues to evolve, and we will continue to communicate with you on decisions being made about Club activities.

To our Sponsors, I thank you for your ongoing support and we empathise with you all as we know your businesses will be facing a whole new set of circumstances. Our message to our community is to support our sponsors as we could not continue without your unwavering support of us.

Our community is very strong and we encourage everybody to support each other through what are uncertain times.  It is vitally important that we build on our sense of community and trust now more than ever.  Take care of yourselves and each other during this time and if you have questions or you need support, please contact
